Excessive worry or ruminating can have negative consequences. Repetitive negative thinking can lead to or perpetuate poor mental health. Recognizing the pattern and becoming more aware of the link between a person’s mood and their thoughts is the first step in learning adaptive strategies to reduce the impact of negative thinking.
